‘Beat the winter blues’ with a blog hop. What a great idea, this is always a fun event hosted by Michelle of the quilting gallery, always well frequented and we are all bound to bump into our virtual friends as well as make some more through this blog hop:) So to all of you who have come over to visit, welcome, enjoy, if you are new here I would love for you to have a look around my blog which is filled with my sewing adventures beginning with oilcloth then venturing into the world of quilting and hand dyeing my own fabric, thanks for reading.

Three hand made oilcloth items by me:) A shopper measuring approx. 10″ by 12″, a makeup bag to match measuring 7″ by 6″, a gadget case designed to hold an e-reader or tablet of 7.5″ by 6″ and lastly two complementary oilcloth pieces of approx. 1 yard for you to try your hand at working with this fabric. It does make up great accessories. (be sure to look up some handy tips on how to sew with it in this blog.

I love light grey with bright colours (such as orange or apple green).
I don’t know that I have a favorite, but with the bleak midwinter (for us) color is what I crave.
My personal favorites are purples and grays but I enjoy playing around with all kinds of color combinations.
I love grey with all other colors – orange, turquoise, blue, yellow, white… and I must say, I’ve been thinking of oil cloth because I need to make some travel cases very soon!

I can’t seem to move away from purples and pinks.
If you ask me I’ll tell you something about white and aqua or grey and yellow, but when I sew I can’t seem to pick other fabrics than blues and greens. If I don’t plan my colour selection carefully, everything I sew is blue and green.

I love teal and chocolate, but I am making a quilt in peach and grey for a friend..
I like pinks and greens but lately I have been using dark reds and navy.
I tend to lean towards earth tones… but I did a sampler in bright colors and I think I want to go back to those colors some more…. I am a big fan of golden yellow!

My husband follows clemson basketball and football, so I’ve been working with the school’s colors of orange and purple, but my fav colors to work with are browns and tans. Just to rest my eyes from the Clemson colors, AND it’s the colors of chocolates!!

I like to work with white. I know a lot of people avoid it, but I think it really offsets the other colors I use in my quilts. The oilcloth looks interesting. I have never seen it before, though I have heard of it. Would be fun to try something with it.
I have to say I’ve always loved green (as in new grass green) and darker Colbert blue
