Quilting Dreams

7 Apr

I am so inspired by quilting I am just itching to start one of my own.  It absolutely fascinates me how quilts are  put together and I have been reading anything I can get my hands on relating to this.  To help me with my obsession a friend has sent me a few great links to other peoples blogs, I mentioned but two last week, so this week I will mention this one – rosielittlethings.

I particularly like the log cabin design and she has just recently finished her first ‘log cabin quilt’.  Now that I have researched this method a bit, I would like to try and do some of these squares.  How exciting, but daunting at the same time.

On a completely different note, but still on sewing and blogs this is a great place to pick up some good tips on books on sewing and just look at all the lovely photos and fabrics flying around…love it!

To finish off for today, and before I fly off with the faeries, I thought I would mention these books – Just to get me started I think this first book is for me:

Practical Guide to Patchwork, The

and this one….

The Encyclopedia of Quilting and Patchwork Techniques

and this one too…..

The Sampler Quilt Book

I better stop now, the list could go on but  I need to get busy before the day disappears on me.

I feel the same, I’m reading so many quilting blogs and lusting over the gorgeous designs (log cabins being my favourite!) but have yet to put needle to fabric…

Soon, the day is coming…I hope. I just love what you can do with quilting, so many variations with a square of mixed fabric, brilliant. I must get started! Let me know when you do:)
