A New Quilt in the Making

11 Sep

This project started off what seems a long time ago.  My beginning thoughts were not to make a quilt but rather make some cushion covers, so very little planning went into the bigger picture.  I wanted to practice some basic patchwork blocks and chose to do some pin wheels, tumbling blocks and nine squares to name a few.   I ended up with enough blocks to make a single quilt cover and the top is all done now.  I won’t show the whole quilt until it is complete, but here are just a few squares that kept me busy (and challenged over the past couple o’ months)…

Looks very interesting – can’t wait to see the finished quilt. Love the orange and blue fabric – where did that come from ?

Thanks, it is definitely busy, to say the least! But the process has been a good learning curve – I am still in awe at the perfection some quilters achieve in their blocks.
The orange and blue fabric is batik, there are loads of fabric shops in Goldhawk Road that sell it – gorgeous, I love going – I could spend all my pennies there if let on the loose;)
